Day By Day 51

Today we went to the Lafayette Reservoir and saw lots of pelicans, cormorants and even a great blue heron.     It was a lovely day.     After lunch, I went to Blue Mercury and ordered another sunscreen.     Then I went to the studio and read.     This evening we will watch another movie.     I don’t know what yet.

Day By Day 50

Today we had the storm that raged all night, but we weathered it, and we were able to take a walk and get groceries and go to Mrs. Dalloway’s this afternoon to get a bunch of books for me to read.     I hope to get some reading done this week even if I can’t see people that much.     It will depend on the weather.     It’s hard to say if we will get more rain or not.     I might walk with Marianne and maybe see my daughter tomorrow or Friday.     What a mess, but luckily, we aren’t getting the worst of it.

Day By Day 49

This morning I went to Trader Joe’s and got stuff for our dinner on the Christmas Eve, the 24 th .     That is about all I did today.     I read and finished a book and rested.     We are about to play Scrabble and then have dinner and watch a movie.

Day By Day 48

Today I listened to the meditation and Dharma talk of Anam Thubten, and both were delightful.     Then I came in, made my lunch and then went off to college to get the toys for the grandkids and then kitty toys for the grand kitties.     I returned home tired, and so I sat upstairs not doing anything, so that I could get back to myself.     Then I came downstairs and began dinner.     We will eat and watch a movie.     I made my list for stuff to get for the Xmas Day meal.  One day at a time.

Day By Day 47

Today we exercised and walked and otherwise just rested.     Jessi called us about various plans but canceled our dinner together tonight because Lewis is still sick.     Story of our lives right now.     We are doing what we can to keep this holiday happening. It was John’s birthday today and we talked to him and wished him a happy birthday.

Day By Day 46

Yesterday was Jessi’s 40th birthday, and she had friends over to a place where they could gather outside and it was warm and cozy.     Her babysitter Leila was great and had no trouble putting the kids to bed and so Jessi’s husband and other friends could be there for her.     I’m so happy that worked out! Jessi is the best daughter anyone could have, and I hoped to go shopping with her this next week to help make her birthday more memorable. In the meantime, for all you do, dear Jessi, I love you and am proud of you!

Day By Day 45

Today I was on my own for exercises and walking, as Bill was under the weather.     I talked to my son Riyad for a few minutes, and with Sharon for about 50 minutes, but otherwise was on my own.     Tonight, we will watch a movie again and hope for the best.     What a dull life when your grandkids are as young as mine.

Day By Day 44

Today the cleaners came, and it was just one woman so it took her 3 ½ hours.     Then we went to Barney’s for lunch, then came back and rested, then I went with Bill to CVS to get prescriptions and a humidifier, then we returned to play Scrabble.     I was close, but lost because I didn’t get any points, as I got none of the big letters, except for a Q at the very end.     We are going to make a do a quick dinner then watch something on TV.     It’s raining to boot, so not so great here.     Tomorrow, we do laundry.

Day By Day 43

I have not been posting because I caught the cold Lewis and Jessi had, and I have been recuperating and staying away from others, but now I feel better and will slowly get back to my old habits.     But Bill began taking medicine for his cold, which got from me, and so he’s still under the weather.     Anyway, we are surviving.     Just caught a nasty flu.

Day By Day 42

Today I saw Dr. Karishev in the morning, and I just finished with my diabetes doctor, Dr. Murad, now.     Everything looks good, except I must up my Metaprolol from 25 to 50 milligrams.     Hopefully that will take care of the higher blood pressure.     It was crazy this morning, yet we did well.     I got the prescription changed, got a note for my dentist, and some cream for my face. Now I will rest a bit and hope for the best.     I must be sure to keep all my meds current.     I want to travel soon.
